It looks like wedding season has grabbed the entire tinsel town. Last year, the film fraternity saw some of the huge wedding ceremonies; the latest entrant was Shilpa Shetty. Now the young heart throb, Imran Khan has also declared his engagement with his longtime girlfriend, Avantika Malik

The young couple is all set to welcome the new life on January 16th 2010 in Mumbai. It was earlier presumed that the grand occasion would take place in Delhi at Arjun Rampal’s lounge bar ‘Lap’. But Imran’s spokesperson confirmed, “Imran had always January in mind when he had announced his formal engagement. The date is 16th January. Also, there were never any plans of doing the ceremony in Delhi as Imran and Avantika both have their families and friends here in Mumbai.”

According to the buzz, the couple is also planning to announce their wedding day as they exchange the rings. It is expected that the entire film industry will be there at the gala event while Imran’s father Anil Pal too will be in India just for his son. Will Ranbir Kapoor come by the way?
